Corsair 4GB Flash Voyager Review [Review, rojakpot]
The latest incarnation of Corsair's famous Flash Voyager range of water-resistant USB flash memory drives comes with a super-large capacity of 4GB. That puts it in almost the same league as the Seagate 5GB Pocket Hard Drive we reviewed not so long ago. Let's see how this small flash drive with a big appetite holds up against the competition! PQI Memory Intelligent Stick Pro 170 512MB USB Flash Drive [Review, PCStats]
What PQI has done with its Intelligent Stick Pro 170 is replace the standard metal-wrapped USB connector with a low-profile smart-card-esq connector pad. With a total size of just 43 x 18 x 3 mm, the PQI Intelligent Stick 170 is definitely one of the thinnest USB drives we've ever seen. The PQI Intelligent Stick 170 has a speed rating of up to 25MB/s when running through a USB 2.0 connection. The device is compatible with Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, XP, Mac OS 9.x+ and Linux. X-Micro DisGo [Review, overclockersonline]
The X-Micro DisGo has certainly taken advantage of the Toshiba 1.8"
hard drives by creating a truly portable hard drive solution. It opens the
door to large amounts data in a relatively package. While the options for
devices like 4 GB thumb drives do exist and are another popular option, 4 GB
is not enough to transfer a full DVD's worth or data, let alone a dual layer
one. Top that off with performance generally exceeding that of USB thumb
drives and equivalent to external hard drive solutions, the X-Micro is a
great solution for those who just want to be on the cutting edge of
technology. Sun, 11 Dec, 2005 | 5 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
OCZ Rally Drives [Review, overclockersonline]
I've now had these two units for about a month, the ability to drop
half a DVD's worth of content on to the drive in a few minutes is great. The
Rally drive's small form makes carrying the unit a breeze. While it's
certainly possible to find smaller thumb drives, going any smaller brings
the risk of breaking the unit or simply losing it. I find the Rally drive to
be the perfect size for me to clip onto my carabineer and keys without
adding too much weight. The only thing I've noticed after a month of use is
that the black paint on the Rally drive eventually does scratch off. While
it doesn't affect performance, those who care about aesthetics will want to
be a bit more careful and avoid leaving the drive in a pocketful of keys and
coins; eventually you'd be left with a logo-less aluminum casing. Mon, 05 Dec, 2005 | 5 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD4000KD 400GB SATA Hard Drive Review [Review, PCStats]
Trying to find the right high performance consumer hard drive can be a frustrating task with all the options on the market. First there are the IDE, Serial ATA and Serial ATA II interconnect standards to deal with, then there are drive rotational speeds, cache sizes and other miscellaneous features... it's no wonder people get most confused when hard drive shopping.
When it comes to pure speed, the Western Digital Raptor series hard drive "should win" hands down because of its 10,000RPM platter speed. We say "should" because desktop level 7200RPM hard drives (HDDs) have made huge gains thanks to skyrocketing platter densities. In fact, those super large capacity HDDs offer performance that can almost rival the enterprise class 'Raptors.' Thu, 01 Dec, 2005 | 25 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

Vantec AVOX Audio/Video Jukebox [Review, PimpRig]
Nothing impresses me more than little gadgets that can do a lot. Expanding the HDD enclosure
idea further, Vantec has created the AVOX. The AVOX is a 2.5 HDD enclosure that doubles, no
triples, no QUADRUPLES as a Movie/Music/Photo player and a storage device. My title of "The
little black box that could" is fitting for the AVOX and has me all amped up for this review.
Pimps and Pimpettes, please have a look at the AVOX. Sun, 27 Nov, 2005 | 6 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
ULTRA Mini Portable Disk [Review, Bjorn3D]
Sure flash drives are very handy for moving files around when a floppy disk is
too small and a CD-R is overkill, but what about those files or groups of files
that take up more room than even a DVD-R can store? Many users have the need
for this type of file movement, and external hard drives are just the solution
for this dilemma. ULTRA has just what the doctor ordered, so read below to see
what kind of prescription they provided me with. Sun, 20 Nov, 2005 | 4 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

OCZ 2GB Rally USB 2.0 Flash Drive [Review, Bjorn3d]
OCZ is all about top performance, and who can blame the company for focusing on
what enthusiasts want? When OCZ's performance-obsessed product managers decided
to enter the crowded USB flash drive market, they decided that they wanted the
performance crown. Forget about fancy utilities and extra bells and whistles;
they wanted top performance, plain and simple.
In order to achieve this goal, OCZ decided to implement what it calls 'leading
edge Dual Channel technology.' Obviously, OCZ wants to take advantage of our
knowledge and love of dual channel memory to make us believe in the speed of
its USB 2.0 Rally Flash Drive. In this review, I'll find the truth behind all
the claims and see if OCZ really does deliver a flash drive that blows away the
competition. Fri, 11 Nov, 2005 | 3 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Seagate 7200.9 500GB: Mouthwatering Benchmarks [Review, AnandTech]
Last week, Seagate officially announced their 7200.9 desktop hard disk drive line, which brought 3.0Gbps transfer rates, a barrage of SATA features, and a new capacity to bring Seagate to share the top of the mountain with Hitachi. We promised benchmarks and we like to keep our promises.
As soon as we ended our call with Seagate, we went ahead and placed the order for the 500GB version of the 7200.9 with 16MB of cache. Being the newest and highest capacity in Seagate's line of hard drives, we chose to look at it exclusively. For now, we will compare the 500GB drive's performance to some of its older predecessors, like the 7200.7 120GB model, and the 7200.8 400GB model that we looked at a few months back, both with 8MB cache and the first generation 1.5Gbps transfer rates. OCZ Rally High Performance USB 2.0 (Dual Channel) Flash Memory Drive [Review, PimpRig]
Unless you force this drive into a socket it isn't meant to fit in, the install for this drive
is pretty much fool-proof. I have to add the "pretty much" part since I am sure there is some
very anti-ingenius fool out there who can figure a way to screw it up somehow. :) All you have
to do is uncap the drive and plug it into a USB plug. Done. Within seconds the drive is ready
to receive files. Wed, 19 Oct, 2005 | 9 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Corsair Flash Media: 40X CF & 60X SD [Review, overclockersonline]
Corsair has certainly done an excellent job in entering the Flash
Memory market by offering an abundance of choice. Both products live up to
their expectations and even exceed them. The 40X CF certainly impressed me
with the full 1006 MB capacity, a rare find in most storage products, but it
does come at a cost slightly more than your typical 40X card. What you do
end up buying is a brand many enthusiasts trust. The 60X SD is priced
slightly higher than some other brands, but still well below the brand names
like Lexar or SanDisk. You could even get a 1 GB 133X SD and a free 128 MB
Flash Voyager for less than the cost of comparable Lexar and SanDisk
products! Mon, 10 Oct, 2005 | 11 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
