The Teac DV-W50D DVD±RRW Drive [Review, Hothardware]
The unit we received for review was an OEM version that did not include any additional hardware and the only software provided was Nero 6. We suspect that the retail version of this drive will include the same components as the Teac CD-W552E we reviewed earlier this month. The drive itself is nothing striking to look at. The bezel is a familiar beige and sports most of the common functions one would expect to find on the face of a CD or DVD drive. Fri, 29 Aug, 2003 | 93 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

Teac CD-W552E CD-RW [Review, Hothardware]
Today we will be taking a look at the latest CD-RW from the folks at TEAC that boasts 52X Read/Write speeds for around $45! With DVD burners reaching the masses, they still carry a price tag that will keep some buyers from taking the plunge. There are others who simply do not need the 4.7GBs of space that these disks offer. The nice part is that with the increase of DVD-RW drive popularity, the prices of quality CD-RW drives have begun to plummet, making for some great deals to be had on CD-RW drives. Does the Teac CD-W552E fall into this category? Click the image below to find out! Fri, 08 Aug, 2003 | 64 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

With the market full of new and fast DVD recorders, some people may think that buying a combo drive (one able to record CD's and read DVD's) is out of fashion. There are several reasons in favor of this argument, but there are also also several others against it. Combo drives offer high CD-R/RW recording and reading speeds, a fast DVD reading speed and are significantly cheaper than DVD recorders. If DVD writing is not your first need, then a combo drive is what you need. Wed, 06 Aug, 2003 | 190 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
