IDF Spring 2005: Day 1 Keynote : Pat Gelsinger [Article, Hexus]
We always like speaking with Pat and attending his keynote's, often some of the most insightful outlooks on the industry come direct from this man.
This Spring IDF was no different, in his keynote speech Gelsinger, the man who is no longer CTO is now heading up Intel’s Digital Enterprise division, announced that data now compiles to their Moores Law theory in doubling every 12 to 18 months. However, to keep up with demand, it’s important to have scalable architecture ready to cope with the increase. Fri, 11 Mar, 2005 | 5 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
IDF Spring 2005: Intel Multi-Core strategy [Article, Hexus]
It does not take a genius to predict that Intel would be going Dual Core mad at this IDF, and sure enough, the second session of the first day was dedicated to us being informed of their latest multi-core enhancements.

The latest from IDF Spring 2005 [Article, Hexus]
Another Spring, another IDF, without doubt at this IDF we will be bashed about with Dual Core and Vanderpool technology, as well as Intel screaming at us about how well Itanium is doing. This is not forgetting about their vision of the digital home and office. However, pre-IDF Intel has held a number of briefings for the international press. The first of which was centered on the change in the manufacturing process – present and future. Thu, 03 Mar, 2005 | 6 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

St. Louis Gaming - Warfactory LAN [Article, legitreviews]
This nice "bunker-style" concrete room was the perfect setting for some major
gaming action! As I mentioned, 74 systems running and fragging is a beautiful
thing! There were some pretty slick looking cases on those tables. One that
comes to mind was an amature custom rig with a Mario Bros. theme... Sun, 13 Feb, 2005 | 11 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Interview: ATI's Matt Skyner [Interview, Hexus]
Before and after the Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition launch, we
talked to ATI on a number of internal levels about their product
availability. Our core enthusiast readership was clamouring to purchase
high-end X800 at general retail, X700 XT was no longer an official SKU,
and all reports seemed to indicate that either Dell and other large
customers of ATI were buying up everything in sight, or that ATI were
having trouble getting the correct number of orders in to TSMC for
parts, underestimating demand. Thu, 27 Jan, 2005 | 12 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Razer First Edition eXactMatT Mouse Pad Review [Review, extensiontech]
Razer has been making high precision mice for gamers since 1999. Razer now has made a dual surface mouse pad. It's large like other "gamer" pads if you will, but does have one unique feature, two sides with differing surfaces. One is geared for "control" and the other for "speed." Continue on for my thoughts and impressions of Razer's first endeavor into the mouse pad world. Thu, 27 Jan, 2005 | 14 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Females in the IT Segment? [Column, Hexus]
Loads of sites host columns from male IT hacks, posting their
opinion on IT situations and disseminating their thoughts on the world.
HEXUS has thus decided to approach a familiar thing in the opposite
direction, by talking to a chard of diamond in the IT industry from one
of the only places us hacks get to meet the women of IT, public relations. We asked one of the popular faces of UK IT PR to put fingers
to keyboard, enabling her to release all her pent up frustrations with
the industry in which she works. Mon, 24 Jan, 2005 | 9 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Commodore 64 DTV [Review, Hexus]
What can I say? I'm a nostalgia junkie when it comes to reliving
my childhood (This is the man who has a complete set of Transformers
DVDs...), and this product has caught me hook, line and sinker in that
respect. If you owned the C64 in your youth, or wanted to, you'll find a
few hours of entertainment in checking out the games on offer and
reminiscing about when you used to have a joystick just like this one.
It could also offer after-pub entertainment aplenty, being as 'pick up
and play'-able as it is. There are some truly classic games of their
time in the compilation, which could well give the device some longevity
once that initial buzz of 'Wow! A Commodore 64!' has worn off. Tue, 18 Jan, 2005 | 13 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

ATake EasyView 4 Port USB KVM Switch Review [Review, mikhailtech]
The benefits of shared USB ports (something that's not included with most KVMs) are far reaching. The first thing that comes to mind is a networked drive/fileserver. This can be achieved by connecting an external hard drive to one of these ports; it will automatically be shared across any connected computers. What's great about this is that it's done purely on a hardware level; no software, drive mapping, or permission manipulation is required. It also means you don't need a separate computer to function as a fileserver as any of the others can do so, manipulating data on said external drive. iConcepts 4-Port Mini USB Hub [Review, mikhailtech]
It's about the length of one side of a wallet and maybe half an inch tall. It's entirely black (obviously) and the top has a green power LED and logo. The bottom has a model identifying sticker and the necessary primary USB plug. This is held in place by a triangular protrusion which snaps into the bottom of the hub which makes it extremely portable and ideal for laptop users in particular.
