  • New PS3 shots   [Article, Hexus]
So we’ve finally managed to get a look at the PS3 in real life rather than just relying on Sony’s press shots to get and idea of what the new console will look like. However, it’s well worth noting that Sony had the PS3 console in their home entertainment stand labelled up as the “PS3 Concept Unit” which would suggest the PS3 could well look different from this, though elsewhere in the show, where the PS3 was being highlighted, there was no mention of the unit or design being a concept.

  • Water Cooled Xbox 360   [Article, hardocp]
Four years ago next month we built the world’s first water cooled Xbox. At the time, a lot of people asked us why we would want to water cool an Xbox, mostly because they didn’t understand the motivation behind it. The fact of the matter was that the standard heat sink on the 700MHz Intel processor would barely get hot under normal use and surely didn’t warrant the performance offered by a custom water cooling kit. At the time, we did it simply because no one else had done it and “because we could.” That was our motivation then and that is partially our motivation now.

  • Microsoft XBox 360 Review   [Review, tbreak]
The music section rips CDs to the hard drive and allows you to play them, streams music from computers or mp3 players, or plays music from CDs. The video section plays movies that are stored on the hard drive. The Media Center button connects the Xbox 360 to a Windows Media Center or Windows XP based PC on a network. From here you can stream live-recorded TV, watch On- Demand movies, listen to music, and watch photos stored on your PC.

  • Jackson Armor Card   [Review, PimpRig]
With all this experience it's no wonder why they have created what I would like to call the ultimate hardware tool for a secure PC. They stand behind their name and even put a rock solid GUARANTEE on their services. This sounds very promising for a review of just a little PCI card. That's not just any PCI card though, this little card records changes made to the primary drive/partition and if you wish all you have to do is reboot and all the changes that were made are gone! Install a virus… Gone. Install a bad driver… Gone. Install spyware… Gone.

  • Matrox DualHead2Go Notebook Multi-display Breakout Box   [Review, PCStats]
The Matrox DualHead2Go is black box about the size of a paperback book that enables laptop and tablet PC users multi-display functionality from twin side-by-side 17" or 19" LCD monitors. The DualHead2Go works off of the analog video output from an approved list of notebooks at resolutions of either 2048x768 (60, 75, 85 Hz) or 2560x1024 (60Hz). The device takes the novel approach of splitting that double-width video signal in half, with one portion of the screen going to monitor A, and the second portion going to monitor B. The end result is that two monitors will act as a single screen, yet with just one monitor cable plugged into the host computer.

  • Startech SV411KA KVM   [Review, overclockersonline]
A four port KVM switch that also has the ability to distribute audio and a microphone across four computers in or out of the OS can be the ultimate tool for those of us with multiple systems. With a quality KVM like the SV411KA there is absolutely no lag whatsoever. I was worried that mouse lag or stuttering would show up with all three machines on but it certainly didn't. Even at 1600x1200 the display kept up 100% when gaming and watching movies. The other huge benefit to using this KVM over VNC is the ability to switch between computers outside of Windows allowing me to jump into the BIOS of any of the three machines without swapping a single cable; this is priceless for an overclocker.

  • Its not all fun and games y'know - is too!   [Article, Hexus]
The kind of games vary from 2D roll and scroll things to fantastic cinematic FPS and RPGs. We can play them by ourselves, with friends in the same room, with friends on a LAN, or with friends and strangers in the either-net. And everyone plays. It’s not just pasty faced fat boys in cut offs, it’s old guys like me, young girls like my daughter, lawyers, pilots, moms, bakers, and train engineers – literally every category, sex, and age you can think of.

  • PC Silencing Guide - Part 2   [Guide, HardwareHell]
If you are considering getting into the addictive game that is silencing, you will be looking to either build a new system with silence in mind or silence an existing system. Those looking to silence an existing set-up face a more difficult task, but this part of the guide is accustomed to assist either audience.
