Steelpad 4S [Review, HardwareZoom]
You know, the wonderful thing of being a tech editor is that you always get to see stuff that totally amazes you the moment you open up the box. Amazing not because it was some sort of high-tech stuff, but mainly because you initially thought that no one could probably improve on that item further. fUnc Surface 1030 [Review, Grunteville]
I admit it… I’m a gamer. I absolutely love firing up my favorite game and putting my latest Overclock to the test. But when it comes to gaming, your rig isn’t the only thing that will determine how good you can be. Your mouse pad will play a lot into your accuracy and movement in a game. Which brings me to the mouse pad, or should I say mouse Surface known as the fUnc pad or Surface 1030. I bought this mouse surface almost 7 months ago. This isn’t just something a vendor sent in with hopes of a good review. So sit back and keep an eye on your current mouse surface and see if it stacks up to what the fUnc has to offer. Icemat (Mouse Pad) [Review, Gruntville]
Since I started gaming last year, I have rapidly swapped from one mousepad to the next. Unreal Tournament 2003 is the primary game that I play, so moving quick and precise is important. I have small hands and I have found that the Logitech Mx500 is perfect for me. Unfortunately, I used an Everglide mousepad for about 3 months and it wore a flat spot in the pad and filed my poor mouse feet right off. Thus, I am not fond of rough textured mousepads, so I was on the look-out for a smooth surface. Last weekend I went to a LAN party and was given a mouse pad that is said to be as smooth as ice, the Icemat. A new company and a new product, I was excited to see just how this Icemat performed. X-Board V2 (Mouse Pad) [Review, HardwareZone]
The X-Board V2 will occupy about the same amount of desk space as the mousepads from Barracuda and Everglide; the board measures at 250 x 300 x 7.5 mm, and weighs about 440g. While this makes it heavier than other mousepads, the weight does contribute to the riveted stability of the board once it’s set down onto the table. The other thing that makes it impossible to push the board across the table is the four gel-like feet underneath the board that seem to cement the mousepad to the table. As the feet appears to be permanently fixed into the board, having them peeling or wearing off would be highly improbable. Sun, 21 Sep, 2003 | 78 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
XTrac Optical Mouse Pad Comparison [Review, LegitReviews]
It’s time for a not-so-typical computer hardware review! We’ve used a lot of different mousepads over the years, and while every editor has a different opinion about what makes the perfect pad, most of us agree that the pads with a sticky backing and a harder surface serve us best. Illuminated Keyboard [Review, CoolTechZone]
Manufacturers are putting lights in everything nowadays due to the increasing demand of “cool” looking computer accessories. There have been manufacturers who started making illuminated keyboards a while ago. Auravision was one of the first manufacturer to manufacture illuminated keyboards and they have been a hit since then. After the success of Auravision’s illuminated keyboards, more and more manufacturers joined the trend of these lighted keyboards and manufactured them under their own name. Almost all of these illuminated keyboards look exactly the same and function the same. Their prices are also similar which range anywhere from $90.00 to $100.00. The prices tags are extremely hefty on these keyboards so today we will be reviewing a budget level illuminated keyboard that does have the same features but not the same price tag. This keyboard is easy to afford for anyone. Wed, 17 Sep, 2003 | 55 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Article: Logitech Peripheral Comparison [Article, SubZeroTech]
What is even more important than how your computer performs? Some may argue that the way you interact with your PC is perhaps the most important feature of any computer. If you are playing games that are running beautifully, in high resolution with the graphics turned all the way up I can guarantee it will not be very enjoyable if your mouse is lagging and your keyboard is as crusty as a barnacle. The fact of the matter is your peripherals matter more than you might expect, and they are certainly taken for granted in a serious way. Icemat Mouse Pad Review [Review, AseLabs]
Welcome to the second mousepad review at ASE Labs. Now, I'm not one to really get excited about a mouse pad... I mean, it is JUST a mousepad. Regardless, many people use an expensive, or exotic type of mousepad rather than the plain old cloth type. The Icemat is the other product from Softtrading, the company that also makes Steelpad. Can the Icemat succeed where the SteelPad failed? Yes, and that's pretty impressive coming from me. Sat, 13 Sep, 2003 | 26 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Xtrac's Hammer and the Steelpad 4S [Review, bit-tech]
...and so I find myself with nearly sixty five dollars worth of mouse mats on my desk. 'What's strange about that?' you ask, you probably think we've had some mats printed with the bit-tech logo on and I've got a pile on my desk. You'd be wrong. In fact I've got just two mats on my desk and to be fair on Xtrac's Hammer, around 75% of the cost of the pair lies in the Steelpad 4S. This had better be one damn fine mouse mat. Microsoft Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer 2.0 Review [Review, HardwareCentral]
A textured, black-leather finish may be the most eye-catching thing about Microsoft's deluxe mouse, but a scroll wheel that tilts sideways is the most innovative. The Little Keyboard That Can [Review, Tomshardware]
Auravision claims it has produced a unique concept in keyboards with the EluminX, which the company says is commanding a lot of attention in the gaming community. Cooler Master Keyboard Q [Review, Thetechlounge]
When I first heard of this keyboard and saw pictures of it on Cooler Master’s website, I got the impression that it had a reflective aluminum surface. As such, I assumed that the surface would smudge extremely easily and that the keyboard would be more for showing off than for practical use. I was pleasantly surprised when I pulled out the keyboard and realized at least some of my assumptions were wrong. The surface of the keyboard is brushed aluminum and it does not smudge, which is a huge relief. Not only does this keyboard not smudge, it looks outstanding. Ideazon Zboard [Review, Rage3d]
For what it was designed to do, it works perfectly. Ideazon seems to have taken everything a user might do to it into account and made sure that the Zboard behaves properly. It's as easy to install and setup as any other keyboard and interface changes are quick and easy. Even without taking the interfaces into account, it offers as many or more features in a small footprint package as many other much larger keyboards.
