  • Corsair Twin2X1024-8000UL Memory Review   [Review, pcstats]
With the release of dual core processors, there is again a bandwidth crunch and DDR2 memory is the only source capable of filling the void. Memory manufacturers have capitalized on this and are now releasing some pretty fast DDR-2 memory modules so PCs are finally starting to see some real performance benefits due to DDR2 RAM. On the forefront of this DDR-2 RAM movement is the nVidia nForce4 SLI chipset - it's more advanced and supports more features than Intel's counterparts, and allows memory to operate much faster than the FSB. Because of this, memory manufacturers are now releasing high speed memory specifically for the nForce4 SLI Intel Edition chipset. Corsair is quick on the ball, and today we have some very quick PC2-8000 compatible memory to test as a result. According to Corsair, with compatible supporting hardware, its 240-pin DDR2 Twin2X1024-8000UL memory can run at.....1000 MHz! Amazing!

  • Corsair TwinX XMS PC4000 2GB DDR Memory Kit   [Review, PimpRig]
Until recently, going with more than 1GB of RAM had some pitfalls. It was outrageously expensive for 1GB modules, and if you went with 4 512MB modules you would either lose your low latency or FSB speed. Not so anymore, a few companies are producing low-latency high speed 2GB DDR kits and, of course, Corsair is among them. The RAM that I will be checking out here is from the infamous Corsair XMS line, the Corsair TwinX XMS PC4000 2GB memory kit done up in Platinum color.

  • Corsair TWINX 2048-4000   [Review, overclockersonline]
The Corsair TwinX 2048-4000 did not disappoint when it came to overclocking or performance. Rated to run at DDR500 3-4-4-8 and actually running at DDR560 with those timings was a nice surprise. The benchmark results were right were they should be with the frequencies the system was running at. Having 2GB of memory is no longer the rarity it was a few short months ago and with the price tag that the TwinX 2048-4000 is sporting, a lot more people will be making the jump. Corsair will be putting smiles on a lot of overclockers faces with this kit and rightfully so. Amazing performance backed up with great overclocking should put this kit at the top of the budget build list for someone looking to go with 2GB.

  • OCZ EL DDR PC-3200 Gold GX XTC Dual Channel   [Review, techgage]
It's not too often that memory companies release a new heat spreader. In the case of OCZ, the only difference between all of their heat spreaders are the color... well not anymore. OCZ first announced the new heat spreaders last month. It immediately received a lot of criticism, which is understandable. All too often, when a new style heat spreader is released, it doesn't make any difference at all! Looking at these ones though, they certainly have potential.

  • Corsair TwinX2048-4400 PRO PC4400 DDR Memory Review   [Review, PCStats]
A total of 1GB of system memory is no longer enough for enthusiastic gamers if we are to believe some recent articles on the web which look specifically at how the game Battlefield 2 handles. Nope, 2GB is the new "1GB," and memory manufacturers are scrambling to make sure their customers know this. Corsair's new 2GB (2x 1024MB modules) TwinX2048-4400 PRO DDR RAM aims to make you "ooh" and "ahhh," so let's begin...

  • Corsair TWINX 2048-3500LLPRO   [Review, overclockersonline]
For overclockers, you are not going to get amazing 1:1 performance with this kit, but 248MHz is still pretty good for an overclock with a CAS of 2.5. This memory did run at a command rate of 1T throughout testing with both my E3 3000+ Venice and in some basic testing with my D0 3000+ Winchester. This is good to know as some have had concerns with the memory controllers being able to run 1T in older processors before the E6 stepping. If you are running the new Asus A8N32-SLI DELUXE, then you are guaranteed these timings and frequency as they are tested on that motherboard before packaging at a command rate of 1T.

  • OCZ EL DDR PC-4000 2GB Gold Edition DDR RAM Kit   [Review, PimpRig]
More recently, the RAM sweet spot using Windows XP has been 1GB using a pair of 512MB DDR RAM sticks. Since the release of Doom 3 and Battlefield 2 though, many users are finding that using 2GB of RAM enhances game play and computer performance. There have been a few problems with going to 2GB though; first off was the availability and price of 1GB DDR sticks, since so many users opted to go with 4 512MB sticks of RAM. Unfortunately, some motherboards do not support DDR with 4 sticks, and others will kick the FSB speed down to 333 to reduce errors. Also, many people have limited success when trying to overclock a motherboard with 4 sticks of RAM in it even if they are matching sticks. Plus, there is the increased voltage requirement. OCZ recognized the issues and released a 2GB DDR memory kit that is rated up to PC-4000, so now you can have your cake and eat it too.

  • Corsair 2GB TWINX PC4400 DDR550 Pro Series Memory   [Review, bonafidereviews]
After reviewing 1GB of Crucial's PC3200 Ballistix memory and 1GB of OCZ's Gold PC3200 memory we continue the trend of enthusiast RAM with 2GB of Corsair's PC4400 TWINX Pro Series memory. The keyword here is enthusiast as the TWINX comes in a 2GB package with a speed rating of 275MHZ (DDR550). Perhaps not today, but certainly in the near future (6-12 months) having 2 gigabytes of memory in a computer will be the standard. Not so long ago 512MB was considered a monstrous amount of memory and many clamored about who would ever need that much memory. Even way back in the day the big man himself (Bill Gates) said "You'll never need more than 4MB of RAM". Of course in hindsight 4MB was obviously not enough and 512MB really wasn't that absurd, especially with the way the gaming industry refuses to stop pushing our poor hardware to its limits. Today it is safe to say that 1GB is the new "512" and games like Doom 3, Quake 4, and many others will soon help us to realize that 2GB is going to be the new standard.

  • OCZ PC4000 Enhanced Bandwidth Platinum Ed   [Review, overclockersonline]
Gone are the days when the best performance is provided by 1GB kits of memory. OCZ has given us an alternative that provides amazing performance, solid overclockability, and 2GBs of memory in the form of two 1GB modules running in dual channel at timings that are un-heard of anywhere else on the market. As you saw from the overclocking, this kit not only runs DDR500 @ 3-3-2-8 but it actually runs DDR500 @ 2.5-3-2-7 and 2-3-2-7 up to DDR450+!

The Mushkin eXtreme PC2-6400 modules loaded Windows at 1060MHz on the first try. Although we later found that 1060MHz was unstable this was an impressive achievement. After RST Pro2 testing we found that 1042MHz was 100% stable on our 2GB memory kit...
