Comparative test of low priced 8, 12, 16, and 25 ms 19” LCDs [Roundup, behardware]
Up until now, gamers with LCD screens could only use 17”s as 15”, 19”, 20” and other sizes didn’t show any technological improvements. This is finally changing! TN panels are asserting themselves more in a market dominated by VA panels. BenQ and NEC use an AU Optronics 16 ms, Philips a LG-Philips 12 ms, and Samsung an 8 ms (on paper) of its own production. Samsung 192MP LCD/TV [Review, Bjorn3d]
Does it seem like more and more products are turning into the Swiss Knife of
things to you? First it was the printer/fax, then the printer/fax added
scanning and copying. Some of them even let you plug in your media cards so
you can print you pictures without turning on your PC. Well the company that
does this with monitors is Samsung. I looked at the Samsung 172MP here. Well
Samsung has evolved the idea of multimedia monitor even more this time.
Today I am looking at the 192MP which is a 19” LCD monitor that sport just
about every feature you could think of adding to a monitor. The only thing I
could think that was missing is a built in web cam (probably just gave them an
idea)! Sat, 06 Nov, 2004 | 134 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Large And In Charge : Sony’s SDM-234/B 23 Inch LCD Display [Review, GamePC]
Today at GamePC, we're looking at Sony's brand new P-234/B LCD display, one of the most impressive displays ever produced to date. The P-234/B boasts a 23" widescreen display, a 1920 x 1200 native resolution, an ultra-thin bezel, and capping it all off, a 16ms pixel refresh rate, something which is unheard of for an LCD display of this size. Even more attractive is the fact that this screen is selling for in upwards of $500 less compared to Sony's previous generation 23" LCD display. Sound too good to be true? Let's continue. Not Too Big, Not Too Small : Viewsonic’s VP912B LCD Monitor [Review, GamePC]
Finally, today, we're seeing 19" screens accepted into the fold of gaming ready LCD monitors with the release of Viewsonic's new VP912B. Not only does the VP912B boast features such as a large SXGA panel and a new glass screen treatment, it's also the first 19" LCD monitor we've seen on the market which boasts fast pixel refresh rates. By fast, we're not just talking 16ms, as Viewsonic has raised the bar and is using 12ms refresh rate screen technology for this model. Spicy. LG Flatron L1810B LCD Monitor [Review, Hexus]
Overall I'm impressed by the LG, both in terms of specification and initial out of the box impressions. The resolution is a fine fit for the overall screen size, 19" CRT owners will tell you that, and its even brightness and pin sharp display with the DVI connector are a pleasure. Colour reproduction, something that's hard to objectively test without expensive hardware or software, seems excellent. Thu, 05 Aug, 2004 | 139 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Wide Is The New Black : Samsung’s 243T 24 Inch LCD Display [Review, GamePC]
Today in the labs, we're looking at Samsung's fairly new Syncmaster 243T model, which is without a doubt one of the most impressive looking monitors currently on the market. Unlike its predecessor, the 243T is surprisingly sleek and well rounded for a screen of this size, but still packs in all of the ultra high end functionality one would expect from a monitor of this size (and price). Samsung SyncMaster 172x Review [Review, Bjorn3d]
Ten years ago, purchasing a flat panel display for use with a PC could be considered crazy or ludicrous. Incredibly high prices for panels that performed poorly made them a novelty for the rich only and a candidate only for laptops. Fast forward to 2004: flat panel sales are accelerating and have surpassed that of their bulky CRT counterparts. Prices have plummeted to that of CRTs years ago. Performance, while not quite approaching that of CRTs, has become much less of an issue because they now can keep up (and often exceed) that of human eyes. Samsung, a forerunner in the LCD field, has taken the initiative and sent us one of their premier displays: the SyncMaster 172x. Sun, 20 Jun, 2004 | 266 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Standing Tall : Samsung’s 910T 19 LCD Monitor [Review, GamePC]
Today at GamePC, we're looking at a new 19" screen from Samsung, which replaces their highly praised 191T series of screens. The 191T was one of the first high-end "enthusiast" LCD monitors, but in the time since it was released, Samsung's competition has caught up. The 910T is the replacement model, and looks to correct some of the previous mistakes made by the (very popular) 191T series. Namely, the 191T had to dodge complaints about low contrast levels, design choices, and overall high prices. As new 19" models from Viewsonic and Planar giving performance levels on par with Samsung, its high-time that Samsung upped the ante with a new model. Let's see how it fares. Dualing Panels - Two Fast 17 Inch LCD Monitors Compared [Review, GamePC]
Today at GamePC we're looking at this issue from two separate angles. On one side, we have Samsung's new Syncmaster 172X, which is the first screen on the market to boast a pixel refresh of 12ms. This monitor is certainly aimed at gamers and power users, and is one of the most expensive 17" LCD monitors on the market. On the other side, we grabbed an E-Yama 17NE1-S 17" LCD, which is a relatively unknown model here in the U.S, but it boasts a pixel refresh rate of 14ms, and costs about 1/3rd less in comparison to the 172X. Considering the pure pixel refresh rates of the screens, both should be fantastic at games, but is that really the case? Let's investigate further. SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 172X LCD TFT MONITOR [Review, TweakNews]
Since the mainstream introduction of TFT technology, the standard CRT monitor's reign as the main visual choice in computing is dwindling by the second. As I said time and time again, a standard CRT monitor can't hold a candle to the vibrant color and contrast emitted from a flat panel display. If you personally have not had the chance to try an LCD monitor, I can strongly assure you will not find a single purchase that will free up more space on your desk along with supplying low radiation visual comfort and reduced power consumption. But since TFT technology has been introduced, the home or office users have developed a need for more features other than the standard advantages. Large Screen LCD Gaming Arrives : Viewsonic’s VP201B [Review, GamePC]
Out of the blue, Viewsonic releases the VP201 series of LCD monitors, boasting pixel refresh rates of 16ms average with a native 1600 x 1200 resolution, all packaged in an extremely thin and attractive bezel. Our first thought - too good to be true. A lot of companies have claimed similar specifications, but none have delivered performance from what would expect from a 16ms screen in reality. Amazingly, Viewsonic has not only delivered the first truly gamer-friendly large screen LCD display, they've created what may the flat-out, drop-dead, bar-none best LCD monitor we've ever had the chance to look at in the labs. Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 Review [Review, digital-deity.net]
In conclusion, the Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 is an outstanding monitor, with a very good warranty. In terms of performance, only its scaler lets it down, but this is hardly something that should put off prospective buyers. Our main criticism is that Hyundai could have shaved a little off the price had they left out the speakers and USB hub, but were there any such thing as a Digital-Deity.net Seal of Approval, the Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 would get it. It’s just that good. Fri, 02 Apr, 2004 | 691 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

Samsung 957MB 19-inch CRT Monitor [Review, Bjorn3d]
Over the last six months, I have reviewed several monitors, including the Samsung 192T, which I even ended up buying for myself. There has however been one problem with all the LCD displays I have reviewed so far – they only go up to 1280x1024 in resolution. Since I review many video cards, I really need to be able to go up to at least 1600x1200, and so far I have been forced to use my six year old, trusty Samsung 900P to do this duty. Today, I am happy to give you my thoughts on the new Samsung 975MB. I have been using this monitor for about a month and am ready to give you my opinion of it. Samsung SyncMaster 213T 21" LCD Display [Review, ExplosiveLabs]
It's been about a month and a half now since our last LCD display review, but during this period we have been testing Samsung's latest and one of their largest LCD display's. The SyncMaster 213T, successor to the 210T, is what we are talking about. This display with its native digital and analog resolution of 1600x1200 coupled with a whopping 21.3" active-matrix TFT LCD panel is definitely one serious monitor. How serious is the 213T is what we need to ask. Tue, 02 Dec, 2003 | 492 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
