Quote:A very popular name in the overclocking RAM market lately is that of G.Skill. Although some might have heard of G.Skill only recently, G.Skill is actually one of the oldest manufacturers around, established back in 1989. Lately they made a big entrance in the enthusiasts market by releasing several high end RAM modules, mostly using select Samsung TCCD chips. Their modules, despite the very simple looks (not even a heat-spreader is used most of the time) and featuring an aggressive price compared to others managed to outperform most of the competition with ease. Today I have a new package from G.Skill for testing, the F1-4800DSU2-1GBFR, which consists of two 512MB modules and is rated for 2.5/8/4/4 2T timings at 300 MHz (600 MHz DDR). This package is one of the most aggressively priced packages on the market right now, rivaling even the price/performance ratio of basic value RAM modules. Since it also features Samsung TCCD chips like the more expensive packages from G.Skill, let us see how it can fare while overclocking.
