HIS X700 Pro IceQ Turbo VIVO : Review

Added to the directory: Sun, 13 Feb, 2005. Source: Bjorn3d.

Quote: Want extreme cooling on your ATI-based video card without adding extra noise? Don't want to do it yourself? HIS and a few other companies want to help you out. These companies provide better-than-stock cooling solutions on ATI's latest and greatest graphics chips. You might be thinking that you'll just buy a board with a stock cooler and upgrade it yourself. That's cool (pun intended), but what about that warranty that says any modifications of the board voids it? I realize that hardcore modders probably couldn't care less about voiding a warranty, but I'm concerned about the newbie who reads some article about how some guy put his refrigerator on his brand new video card so he could overclock it to perform at levels that only boards twice as expensive can normally perform. The newbie probably wouldn't realize that if he makes changes to his board that an RMA department could recognize as modding, he's out of luck and has to buy a new board.
