Quote: Today at GamePC, we're looking at the first Socket-775 processor to hit the market which is not based on the "Prescott" core architecture, the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition 3.4 GHz. As always, Intel's Extreme Edition processors boast massive 2 MB L3 caches and are designed specifically for high-end workstation users and gamers. In the past, we've seen the P4EE only give slight performance increases over standard Pentium 4 processors, but a lot of things have changed since the last new P4EE processor. Has the situation changed with Intel's new CPU sockets, new platforms, and new competition? Let's find out.
