Originally announced last September as the first 80 GB/platter drive, early models of the DiamondMax Plus 9 subsequently shipped with 60 or 66 GB platters. Further, the huge 250 GB and 320 GB MaXLine II models announced around the same time, despite captivating readers worldwide, remained nowhere to be seen.
