Aspire X-Dreamer II Case [Review, Overclockercafe]
Anyone who has read my reviews kn1ows that I'm a sucker for some good solid bargain stuff. A few months back I had the chance to review a case made by AspireUSA as one of their line of budget cases, the X-Dreamer. Today I'm back with the sequel to that particular case, the X-Dreamer II. As we all know, sequels for the most part do not live up to the original (at least in the world of movies anyway). So today we're going to check and see if the X-Dreamer can break the mold and what they've added to an already kick butt bargain case. ASUS A2H Notebook PC Review [Review, Digit-Life]
The main trends in the notebook PC development leave their traces in practice :). With the launch of the Intel Centrino all notebook makers offered slim and light solutions. Now it's time for another kind of notebook PCs meant to replace desktop PCs. In this case we can't allow for a light weight or consider that the run-down time can make up for some downsides. Such kinds of notebooks are used all day long, and no trade-offs are allowed. So, today we will take a look at the ASUS A2 series. Apart from the A2000H line which will be examined today there is also the A2000L built on the mobile Intel Pentium 4. The lines have no difference in design, i.e. they leave the same impression in handling and management, though the performance may differ. Asus A7N8X-X [Review, OCAddiction]
Asus is the top manufacturer of motherboards in the world. They make retail motherboards as well as OEM boards for OEM companies like Hewlett Packard. My old Hewlett Packard was powered by an OEM Asus motherboard and the Intel Pentium III processor. The performance and reliability of an Asus motherboard is top notch. They never fail to satisfy their consumers. Visiting forum to forum and looking around computer stores, I have realized that the many buyers choose Asus motherboards. From socket 370 to socket A to socket 478, Asus has a top performing board that will surely impress its user. Heck, I still have my Asus CUSL2 Black Pearl that's running a Pentium III 550. It overclocks like a champ! With such a great performance comes a great price. Not all Asus motherboards are cheap. The A7N8X Deluxe v2.0 and the P4C800 Deluxe are quite expensive. Asus now aims at lower budget consumers, thus the production of the Asus A7N8X-X. Based on the nForce2 chipset, Asus strips the original board of some features and sells it at an affordable cost. ASUS A7N8X-X Single Channel nForce2 [Review, LostCircuits]
Undisputed leader amongst the 32bit Athlon platforms is currently nVidia's nForce2 chipset sporting dual independent memory controllers that are believed to be a key to the untouchable performance of this core logic. Surprising, therefore, has been the release of a recent wave of singe channel nForce boards by Soltek, ASUS and others that are competing against the VIA and SIS solutions at the very low end of the market. Even more surprising have been reports showing that those boards were actually outperforming the full versions that, at least in theory, offer twice the bandwidth of a single memory channel design.
