  • Sapphire Radeon X550 DDR2 256MB PCIe   [Review, HardwareZoom]
With limited choices of low-end PCI-Express cards in the market, the Radeon X550 is a much better alternative than integrated graphics or Radeon X300. Priced between the X300 and X600, the X550 has same number of pixel pipelines and vertex shaders. The Sapphire Radeon X550 equipped with 256MB DDR2 BGA memory running at 128-bit, which can be easily overclocked to beat the X600Pro. With 15% overclocking for the GPU and 50% for the memory, the X550 score 20-40% higher in our benchmark.

  • SAPPHIRE X800 GTO Ultimate 256MB PCIe   [Review, Hexus]
Priced at £129.99, the financial cost of having a passively-cooled card is a £10 or so premium over a regular ATI Radeon X800 GT0 256MB card. Is it worth it? That depends upon how much you value silence. Whatever the case, the X800 GTO is another fine addition to ATI's burgeoning PCI-Express family.

  • ATI CrossFire   [Review, HardwareZone]
Most definitely you would have read our CrossFire preview in June '05, but now we have the real CrossFire reference system to test drive in full. Slated to be in retail pretty soon, this might be a good contender to NVIDIA's SLI. Find out if it's as good as it claims to be.

  • ATI Crossfire - X850 Crossfire Edition and Platform Basics   [Review, Hexus]
Crossfire was always set to launch before the next generation of ATI graphics processors and with those launching in a week or so it was time for Crossfire systems to make their way to folks like me recently, for full evaluation. Were ATI's claims for the technology preview correct? How would integrating a Crossfire system work for the end-user? What's the Crossfire platform like as a whole?

  • ATI X850XT CrossFire   [Review, tbreak]
Setting up Crossfire is quite simple- the master card needs to go into the primary PCI-E x16 slot and a cable runs from the master to the standard card which in turn connects to your monitor. There are no switches or bridges and you don’t need to reboot to enable or disable multi GPU mode.

  • PixelView GeForce 7800 GTX 256MiB   [Review, Hexus]
Given how every 7800 GTX is going to be as near as dammit to the reference design, if bundles and pre-overclocking don't bother you, you'll probably find yourself going for the cheapest, which could give this card an edge. You might, however, find yourself looking at a 7800 GT with a better bundle and cheaper still, while offering almost the same level of performance.

  • AOpen Aeolus 7800GTX-DVD256   [Review, overclockersonline]
What can you say about a 7800GTX? The most powerful video card on the market at this time certainly did not disappoint in this review and managed to make me look twice at certain results. The AOpen Aeolus 7800GTX-DVD256 is not a lot different from any of the other 7800GTX cards out there and is pretty much identical to the other manufacturers such as EVGA, XFX, and BFG brands. They are simply clones of each other with just different logos on the HS/Fan assembly. The KO version from EVGA comes clocked at 490/1300 and this Aeolus 7800GTX had no problem reaching those speeds and more. The overclocking of this card was very good and, after reading some reviews and talking with other 7800GTX owners, I realized that the 505/1350 I was able to achieve is higher than most of these cards will go.

  • "Hoaxware Analysis" R520 benchmarked?, but by who? H.A. editor threatens ATI....   [Editorial, driverheaven]
Most of you will realise when a website is given hardware by a company like ATI or NVIDIA, testing is done internally by a site reviewer, a member of the reviewing team, I find this article a little disturbing, is this the way hardware sites are going to handle benchmarking in future when "snubbed" by a manufacturer? to have AIB's run tests for public viewing within environments outside our control? There are so many variables involved in this it would certainly not be something I would ever feel comfortable with on any level. It is a website's duty to print their findings to their readers.

  • Albatron 7800GTX   [Review, overclockersonline]
Without a doubt, the 7800GTX offers the best performance possible from a single video card at this point in time. While it certainly costs a lot of money, those who can afford it won't be disappointed. I look forward to the day when Albatron releases a model that has their Cold Fusion (Wise Fan III + Heat Pipe Technology) cooler! With hope, we should be seeing something new from Albatron in the very near future.

ATI seek to please with a next generation of video capture, display output and video controllers under the Avivo umbrella. Related to display output, Avivo fixes my whinge with a pair of dual-link DVI outputs, fitted to the low-end up (!) via two built-in TMDS transmitters, and brings the rest of the video path, from input to output, up to modern standards.

  • ATI Radeon X1800 XT, XL and Avivo in action   [Article, Hexus]
You might have read our article on Avivo earlier today and thought "dual dual-link DVI? LIES!". You might even have the stance that ATI's R5-series of products is the most talked about piece of vapourware since 3DRealms announced Duke Nukem Forever. • nVidia 7800GT   [Review, tbreak]
Like the 7800GTX reference card, the 7800GT is a single slot solution however, the card is a bit smaller in size and runs cooler than the 7800GTX. The HSF unit is barely audible when the card is not pushing itself and would thus be a good option for a SFF PC especially since it draws lower power as well.
