  • ASUS Extreme N6600GT Silencer 256MB (GeForce 6600 GT, PCIe)   [Review, hardwarezone]
An unconventional cooler design that is completely silent meant that we gave the ASUS Extreme N6600GT Silencer 256MB more than a second glance. How will this radical design fare against the more ordinary GeForce 6600 GT cards? Read on to find out if this card can really silence the competition.

  • ASUS Extreme N7800GT Dual   [Review, Hexus]
As an engineering showcase and just as a cool piece of hardware, the Extreme N7800GT Dual presses all the right buttons. The PCB design on its own is worth a separate article, the issues you have when supplying power to two GPUs from a single power input and the layout issues to overcome are fascinating in their own right and in that respect, ASUS's engineers responsible for the card should be proud.

  • Gigabyte GeForce 7800 GT (GV-NX78T256V-B) Review   [Review, Bjorn3d]
When NVIDIA introduced us to the 7 Series GPUs with its current flagship GeForce 7800 GTX, we were quite impressed. Most people, though, aren't going to buy flagship hardware, so they wait for the little brothers of the flagship. Currently, the only 'little brother' released has been the 7800 GT. A quick look at the specifications reveals that the 7800 GT is a slightly crippled 7800 GTX, which actually is not a bad thing if you are a 7800 GT. Although the GT has less power under the hood, it still performs quite well when compared to the GTX. Follow along and keep reading to learn about the first retail GT offering to hit our test benches - the Gigabyte GV-NX78T256V- B.

  • PowerColor X800 GT Xtreme 256MB and X800 GT EVO Tide Water 256MB   [Review, Hexus]
We've looked at a couple of PowerColor X800 GT cards and have come away with the feeling that whilst both offer something new in the marketplace, the respective asking prices takes away much of their shine. Novel, exciting products? Yes. Value-for-money? Not quite.

  • ABIT RX800 XL-256EDVIO and Fatal1ty X800 XL   [Review, Beyond3d]
The Fatal1ty X800 XL is essentially a 512MB version of the standard ATI Radeon X800 XL but with a few additional features that we shall investigate in this review. Alongside this graphics card, we shall also be taking a look at Abit's RX800 XL-256EDVIO model - the rather cumbersome name slightly disguises the fact that this too is essentially a standard X800 XL but, like the Fatal1ty version, with extra functions.

  • ASUS Extreme N7800 GT Dual World Exclusive first hands-on test   [Preview, hexus]
ASUS didn't can the idea of two GPUs on a single board in SLI mode, though. The recent release of NVIDIA G70 which powers the GeForce 7800 GTX and 7800 GT SKUs has given ASUS something new to work with. The G70 GPU, built on 110nm, is actually cooler and less power hungry than NV45, despite a large hike in transistor count and die area.

  • Great Graphics, Better Price: XFX 7800 GT   [Review, PCWorld]
When nVidia launched the GeForce 7800 GTX, several months ago, its stellar performance blew us away--but so did its scary $600 price. The latest nVidia chip is the $400 7800 GT, which features great performance for power users on a slightly tighter budget. To make the 7800 GT, nVidia slowed down its 7800 GTX chip and turned off a few pipes. But card vendor XFX has sped things up by slightly overclocking its PCI Express-based GeForce 7800 GT board, allowing it to keep pace with a previously tested 7800 GTX reference card, and to easily outrun a high-end ATI Radeon X850 Platinum Edition card.

  • HIS X800GTO IceQ II Turbo 256MB   [Review, overclockersonline]
'the best price/performance card ever built' How can you argue with that statement after reading this review? If you were not impressed by the 42% overclock of the GPU core or the 22% overclock of the memory, then surely the temperature when running this ridiculously impressive overclock under load thanks to the IceQ II cooling technology that HIS incorporates in their X800GTO offering has you running out the door to buy it. In addition to the overclocking capabilities of the HIS X800GTO, the pure performance of this new chipset is just incredible. I was surprised going through the benchmark results just how much of a difference there was compared to the 6600GT.

  • ATI X1800XT   [Preview, tbreak]
Unlike the 7800GTX from nVidia which is simply a more efficient and enhanced version of the 6800 series, the x1000 family of cards is based on a completely new architecture. The last time ATI did this was with their 9700 series which went on to become the 9800 and then the x800 and x850. Its also the first discreet GPU to be based on the 90nm process which gave ATI lots of die space to work with. What all this means is that there is plenty of room for growth within the x1000 series for the next few quarters.

  • Gigabyte Radeon X800XL 512MB PCIe   [Review, hardwarezoom]
Gigabyte GV-RX80L512V, powered by Radeon X800XL CPU, boosted with 512MB of GDDR3 memory running at 256-bit. Featuring 16 pixel pipelines like the top-of-the-end X800XT, the X800XL is a more affordable alternative. If you want to play games at high resolution and FSAA without burning a big hole in your pocket, the Gigabyte Radeon X800XL will be good enough to deliver smooth and low-noise games play.

  • Palit Radeon X550V+ 256MB (PCIe)   [Review, hardwarezone]
Despite reviewing an overclocked Radeon X550 from GeCube not too long ago, we have received yet another similarly overclocked Radeon X550 from Palit. With almost identical clock speeds, the Palit Radeon X550V+ 256MB is evenly matched with the GeCube. Which card will emerge as the winner?

  • ATI Radeon X1800 XT Preview   [Preview, Hexus]
The performance - where we see massive gains in F.E.A.R., sizable improvements in Far Cry and Splinter Cell: CT, and consistent CPU-bound performance to match 7800 GTX in mostly everything else - is undoubtedly mighty. Combine that with the image quality improvements and output connectivity available from the X1800 XT in terms of Avivo, the 6x AA carried over from R480 now with less performance hit, adaptive AA for improving alpha textures and rotation invariant anistropic texture filtering for basic excellent texture IQ, and you have a compelling consumer graphics product that almost demands you purchase it as soon as possible. ATI's considerable investment in a clockable new architecture on 90nm low-k has certainly paid off, despite well documented delays. Well worth the wait.

  • Leadtek PX7800 GTX TDH MyVIVO Extreme   [Review, hardcoreware]
The 7800GTX has traditionally been a single slot solution, but Leadtek felt that the higher speeds of the card warranted a better HSF and thus they decided to create a dual slot solution that would offer a larger fan with a lower RPM. Those of you in the 3d graphics world will recognize this as the heatsink that comes on the Nvidia Quadro line of cards. Intended for the workstation world, those cards costs thousands of dollars and thus, ensuring that the cards keep working is of the utmost importance. For retail consumers of this card, that means that one need never worry about the cooling performance of their card. The added benefit of course is this VSF will be quieter than the already quiet (for a stock VSF fan) 7800GTX.

  • NVIDIA Quietly Intros GeForce 6800 XT   [News, xbitlabs]
Following ATI Technologies, NVIDIA Corp. has quietly rolled-out its new product targeting mainstream markets. Just like in the case of the GeForce 6800 LE, the company did not make any announcements on the matter, but just calmly let the partners start selling the new component called the GeForce 6800 XT. General specifications of the GeForce 6800 XT resemble those of the GeForce 6800 LE, but the main difference is that the former is based on the code-named NV42 graphics processing unit (GPU) made using 110nm process technology at TSMC, whereas the latter may utilize NV40 or other chips. The model 6800 XT has 8 pixel and 4 vertex pipelines, the chip should be clocked at 325MHz, whereas memory should operate at 700MHz.

  • PowerColor Radeon X850 Pro 256MiB   [Review, Hexus]
Our benchmarking has shown that PowerColor's X850 Pro can stand fast against a 6800GT, results swaying one way or the other depending on the graphics engine in use. Pricing of the two products is close, so deciding whether the PowerColor X850 Pro is worth the purchase must boil down to other considerations.

  • PowerColor X800 GT EVO Liquid Cooled   [Review, Bjorn3D]
Today we are looking at something special from PowerColor. Something overclockers will drool at. What if I told you we have a card equipped with its own liquid cooling system? That's right, it's the first card ever to be coupled with Thermaltake's TideWater system. No other AIB used this type of solution before. The card I'm referring to is PowerColor X800 GT EVO based on R480. Let me tell you, it rocks like crazy in our system! Don't mistake it with Mitsubishi Lancer EVO, although I have to say video chipzillas and vendors are using more and more fancy names to attract customers.

After 2 days with ATI at Ibiza it is now time for us to share our impressions about the new chips from ATI, the X1000 series. We've written together an articel with info about the chips and even more important lots of benchmarks made with both the X1800XT and the X1800Xl where we compare it to both GeForce 7800GTX, GeForce 7800GT and the X850XT and X800XL.
