NVIDIA's GeForce 6200 with TurboCache Preview [Preview, Hexus]
Cute little boards, interesting technology that might make it
into high-end hardware in the future (what about a 256MB board that can
texture into system memory when needed, saving you the massive cost of a
jump to a 512MB variant?), along with all the attractions of a well
engineered small PCB and passive cooling, mean they're well worth
considering if you're looking for low-cost PCI Express thrills and spills. Wed, 05 Jan, 2005 | 19 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
VisionTek XTASY X800 XT Bjorn3d]
So, what's the point? Well, for those wanting a top gaming rig now, an Athlon64
motherboard with AGP is probably high on the list of 'must haves.' That's where
the VisionTek XTASY X800 XT comes in. You already know that it will offer great
performance for gaming, but you might not realize that it includes VIVO

Gainward's GeForce 6800 GT Ultra/2400 Golden Sample Goes Like Hell 256MB [Review, Hexus]
Gainward's GeForce 6800 GT Ultra/2400 Golden Sample Goes Like
Hell 256MB is a fast and furious card that will ultimately appeal to the
enthusiast who desires clock speed above all else. In that respect, it's
a decent effort. Forget that it's named a GT; that's just clever
marketing. The only question you really need to ask yourself when
contemplating a video card at this end of the market is whether an
NV40-based 400/1200-clocked card is worth £380 of your hard-earned
money. If it is, it's well worth considering. Mon, 20 Dec, 2004 | 31 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Inno3D GeForce 6600 GT 128MB [Review, Hexus]
There's decent pixel-pushing power that's aided and abetted by
16GB/s memory bandwidth, albeit from a 128-bit memory bus. Sheer card
grunt is augmented with a full set of DX9.0c/OpenGL 1.5 features,
including Shader Model 3.0 and High Dynamic-Range (OpenEXR 64-bit)
rendering, along with the possibility of adding another in SLI mode. Our
benchmarks have shown it to be at least as fast as ATI's X700 variants,
and much, much faster in OpenGL titles such as DOOM 3. Mon, 20 Dec, 2004 | 29 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
Leadtek WinFast A400 TDH (GeForce 6800) [Review, Bjorn3d]
Being the older brother in my family, I have always seemed to pick on my little
brother, from as far back as I can remember. I had always thought that being
the little brother probably sucked while growing up. But Leadtek has changed
my mind about that. The Winfast A400 TDH, their name for the GeForce 6800,
makes being the little brother not so bad after all. Mon, 20 Dec, 2004 | 42 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
NVIDIA's SLI - 6600 GT Performance and Conclusion [Review, Hexus]
If you've been following our SLI article series, you'll have seen the intro and 6800 Ultra performance, and 6800 GT performance articles. That leaves one loose end to tie up in terms of SLI performance; 6600 GT. Today's article will wrap everything up, examining the cheapest of the SLI card pairs and digging deeper into the question of price-performance to check if SLI is worth investing in from a value-for-money point of view.
I'll then briefly touch on the PSU requirements for SLI using a few PSUs at my disposal, before using my crystal ball to predict the availability of the parts you'll need for SLI, should you decide it's a route you wish to take. Mon, 20 Dec, 2004 | 32 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

ATI Mobility X300 & X800 [Review, LegitReviews]
The Mobility X800 proved to be able to play some of the most current game
tittles. We played Doom3, FarCry, and Half-Life 2 on the Mobility X800 at
1600x1200 and the games were smooth. In Half-Life 2 playing at 1024x768 with
4xAA & 8xAF we got over 60FPS, which is amazing for a notebook... Sun, 12 Dec, 2004 | 990 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
NVIDIA's GeForce 6600GT AGP [Review, Hexus]
It's fast, doesn't break the bank and hopefully, hopefully, will be available in large numbers in a matter of a week or two. Recommended very highly if you're shopping in the mid-range with just shy of £200 to spend. Drop 150 notes on the card, some change on Half Life 2 and enjoy the game, as ATI struggle to bring X700 XT to AGP. 9800 Pro and XT aren't far off in terms of performance, but in terms of features and price, the 6600 GT on AGP beats them off with a very big stick. Until RIALTO is a reality, 6600 GT is the new mid-range card to choose on AGP, bar none. Sun, 12 Dec, 2004 | 49 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
NVIDIA's SLI - An Introduction! [Review, Hexus]
Currently, SLI allows you to accelerate rendering using two
effective modes, which map to around four general cases of multi-GPU
rendering. The first, SFR or split-frame rendering, has each graphics
card render a portion of the screen, split horizontally. One card, the
primary device on the PEG host, is responsible for the top section of
the screen, the secondary device therefore responsible for the bottom.
That situation is then load balanced. More on that shortly. Sun, 12 Dec, 2004 | 16 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail

A New Contender Sneaks In : MSI’s GeForce 6800 PCI Express [Review, GamePC]
With GeForce 6800 Ultra's still not available in a PCI Express form factor, many are still looking for a way to get GeForce 6800 class graphics on their new PCIe systems. There may be another way, in the form of nVidia's newly launched GeForce 6800 PCIe graphics processor. While this GPU, and the card its based on, have not been publicized at all (MSI's website doesn't even mention this card, whereas nVidia's website has no mention of a pure 6800 PCIe GPU), this new product may be just what the doctor ordered for someone looking for a high-end nVidia PCIe solution who doesn't want to spend $500+ for the privilege. Gigabyte GeForce 6800 (GV-N68128DH) [Review, Bjorn3d]
The company's GeForce 6800 offering - the GV-N68128DH - is quite a change-up
for them. The card features a completely fanless cooling solution that consists
of a rather large heatsink and a heatpipe design. What? A high-end video card
with no fan? Yeah, that's right. Keep in mind, though, that the chip on this
board is a standard GeForce 6800, which means it's the least powerful of
NVIDIA's current high-end graphics accelerator solutions. Sat, 04 Dec, 2004 | 95 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
MSI RX700PRO-TD256E [Review, Hexus]
MSI has done a decent job in turning an RV410 GPU into a
fully-fledged retail package. £160 or so buys you a competent midrange
graphics card and a bundle to rival the best. Too often manufacturers
overlook the bundle but MSI hasn't made that mistake. There's games
aplenty and documentation is excellent. The choice you have to make is
which PCIe GPU to go for. Both NVIDIA and ATI make compelling cases. If
you decide that an X700 PRO best fits your needs and budget I can
heartily recommend MSI's RX700PRO. Sat, 04 Dec, 2004 | 31 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
MSI's RX800 XTs [Review, Hexus]
Overall, it's hard not to recommend MSI's boards in the face of
those X800 XTs from other vendors. X800 XT and XT PE's raw power makes
it arguably the fastest basic SKU from either of the top two GPU IHVs
right now, with MSI's bundle and online pricing making it the most
attractive that I've personally seen to date. Sat, 04 Dec, 2004 | 14 Click(s) | Related: Reviews or Talks | Detail
