  • Leadtek 7800 GTX SLI   [Article, Bjorn3d]
NVIDIA’s new GeForce 7800 GTX clearly has been received very well by the hardware sites on the Internet. It is a very fast card. In fact, in some cases, it is as fast as having two GeForce 6800 Ultras in your machine. Considering how fast the card is alone, I was very curious how fast it would be in SLI-mode. I’ve spent one month playing games just to get a feel for what two GeForce 7800 GTX's in SLI-mode can do. For our testing, I used two Leadtek GeForce 7800 GTX cards. This article should give you an idea if it’s currently worth going with two GeForce 7800 GTX cards or not.

  • 955, X800GT, X800GTO - Crossfired!   [News, Hexus]
All of the X800 cards from ATI will support Crossfire, including the X800GT and X800GTO. You will need a master card in order to run it and wait for the 2nd driver release. The launch drivers will just support X800XT and X850XT derivatives.

  • ATI set to launch RADEON X800 GTO   [News, Hexus]
ATI set to launch RADEON X800 GTO** We've unearthed a .bean in San Francisco that we think will tickle the fancy of those people who are looking for some full-on 12-pipe 3D graphics action, but for not much more money than the X800 GT which ATI recently announced.

  • Sapphire Radeon X550 Review   [Review, Bjorn3d]
Although Sapphire may be best known for its high-end ATI video card solutions, the company also offers a variety of entry-level ATI-based graphics cards. I actually took a look at Sapphire's X300SE HyperMemory card back in may. Today, it's time to review a card that is a notch up in the entry-level segment -- the Sapphire Radeon X550. While the X300SE HyperMemory costs around $50, the X550 can be found for about $75.

  • ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Mac & PC Edition: One Card for All   [Review, AnandTech]
When I first started using Macs alongside my PCs I was quickly reminded of how similar the two platforms had become in terms of their actual hardware. Honestly, with the exception of the PowerPC CPU and custom chipset/motherboard, the inside of my first G5 looked hardly any different than a very well built PC. It used a plain old SATA hard drive, a DVD drive, the same DDR memory and even the same GPUs. Of course, there were some limitations; I couldn't just throw in the gigabytes of DDR memory that I had laying around. I needed G5 compatible modules that adhered to Apple's strict SPD programming requirements. But after locating some, I could use them on both Mac and PC platforms, albeit their slower timings made them mostly undesirable for use on any of my PC test beds.

We've got 7800 GT cards from Asus and eVGA here for testing. • BFG Tech GeForce 7800 GT OC Review   [Review, Beyond3d]
Following from the release of NVIDIA’s newest flagship graphics board, the GeForce 7800 GTX based on the G70 chip, NVIDIA have announced the next board in the line, the GeForce 7800 GT. The 7800 GT fills the performance and price spot just below the GTX with fewer ALU’s enabled and a little lower clockspeeds. As with the GTX, the 7800 GT has come with immediate board vendor availability and here we are taking a look at BFG Tech’s GeForce 7800 GT OC board, which comes pre-overclocked from the reference specifications. Along with the usual round of single board performance tests we’ll take a look at the BFG Tech 7800 GT OC in SLI mode and take a look at the output and performance of the newer SLI AA modes.

  • PowerColor GameFX Radeon X800 GT 256MB PCIe   [Review, Hexus]
We haven't seen a retail Radeon X800 GT card run at higher clock speeds than the reference version, so default performance will always be similar. Price, too, will be similar for partners' cards. The differentiating factor come down to features. PowerColor, with its Game FX X800 GT 256MB carrying dual-DVI-I outputs and using only R480 cores, is in the ascendency here. Our advice after 14 pages is actually quite simple; go buy it. £110 won't buy you better overall 3D performance or a better feature-set.

  • Sapphire Radeon X550 Review   [Review, AMDZone]
If you've followed the video card market for the past decade you know how budget video cards have changed drastically. What were once poor excuses for a video card have since become a viable option for gamers who don't have the cash to spend or simply don't need something so powerful in the graphics department. It was with little fanfare that ATI's Radeon X550 video card was released this summer, their newest budget card that takes over where the X300 left off and adds a number of new features.

  • Catalyst 5.7 Drivers: Memory Limited Performance Improvements   [Article, AnandTech]
Until then, though, for those with budget ATI cards, there's some good news. If you use an older ATI card and have already downloaded and installed the latest catalyst driver (catalyst 5.7), you may notice some games playing a little more smoothly for you. After talking to ATI, we learned that the secret behind this is something called HyperMemory.

  • Gainward Ultra/3500PCX Golden Sample   [Review, bit-tech]
In fact, we were very surprised at how far some board partners were pushing their retail GeForce 7800 GTX products, with Gainward doing their usual thing and overclocking the hell out of the card, guaranteeing enhanced clock speeds under warranty. Today, we are looking at Gainward's fastest GeForce 7800 GTX, coming under the highly touted Golden Sample label that has been around for donkey's years. Along with impressive clocks, it also comes with an impressive name, too. Try and say this without taking a breath: Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/3500PCX XP VIVO-DVI-DVI Golden Sample.

  • Price Guides, August 2005: Video Cards   [Guide, AnandTech]
Looks like it's a great time to buy a new video card as the prices seem to be tumbling across the board. Prices are even falling at the Ultra High End, which, as of late, commanded high prices for months after release. This is especially true when there's no real competition as in case of the GeForce 7800GTX. Prices have dropped by 20% since last month on the screaming GeForce 7800GTX series from NVIDIA. Thursday's launch of GeForce 7800GT also looks promising, since it's already been spotted for $399 at a couple vendors. Check out AnandTech's review for a complete performance breakdown, but it's anticipated to trump any card in its price range, since it's just a slightly lower clocked 7800GTX with 4 less pixel pipelines, 20 instead of 24.

  • Sapphire Radeon X800GT   [Review, TrustedReviews]
The 'Halo' effect generated by nVidia’s success at the high end of the graphics market has ensured that many people have gone out and bought its mid-range 6600 series cards, on the assumption that if nVidia is faster at the top-of-the-range it’s likely to be at the mid-range. On the whole they’d be right. While ATI’s X700 series cards were designed to battle it out with the 6600series they’ve not really had the impact ATI would have liked. Indeed, while this X700 XT we reviewed here showed promise, it never fulfilled it by dint of the fact that it never made it to market, while the X700 Pro that did appear was not quite up to the mark. The only surprise then about the X800 GT then is that it’s taken ATI so long to bring it out.

  • Vendor Cards: XFX GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked   [Review, AnandTech]
In our review of the EVGA e- GeForce 7800 GTX KO, one of the most powerful graphics cards available right now, we explained how impressed we were by the performance. The huge overclock, coupled with EVGA's lifetime warranty, gave it an edge over the other 7800 GTXs that we've reviewed, and thus, put it on the top of our list. Today, we will be looking at the XFX GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked. With a 490MHz core and 1.3GHz memory clock out of the box, it will undoubtedly match the EVGA KO in terms of performance, but we'll see how it compares in other areas as well. As you may know from our past 7800 GTX reviews, things like price and warranty (along with the usual suspects) are factors for the cards that we ultimately recommend over others.

  • eVGA e-GeForce 7800 GT Review   [Review, GDHardware]
NVIDIA’s has, in many ways, pulled ahead of ATI’s desktop command over the past 6 months or so and recently cemented the deal with its release of the 7800GTX and now the 7800GT at the more “mid-level” price-point. This movement started with the 6800-series and its brute horsepower and industry leading support for Shader Model 3.0 just over 12 months ago. ATI has tried to proclaim that SM3.0 isn’t important and so far has done a pretty good job of selling that marketing spin. Truth is, it isn’t ultra important, but it does make life easier for the developers which in turn can translate into better looking games which also run faster. Additionally we do see both the XBOX 360 and PS3 adopting it, so there’s no question it’s a great feature to have for the games starting to come out this year and well beyond.

  • nVidia GeForce 7800 GT - Reference Card   [Review, TrustedReviews]
Well boys and girl, nVidia’s done it again. Less than a month and a half after the launch of the GeForce 7800GTX today sees the release of its ‘little’ brother – the GeForce 7800 GT. As with the 6800 GT this is likely to be a big hit for nVidia, offering much of the power of the 7800 GTX at a lower cost.

  • SAPPHIRE X800 GT Hybrid 256MB PCIe   [Review, Hexus]
ATI's X800 GT SKU offers, finally, real-world performance that, on balance, overcomes NVIDIA's GeForce 6600 GT. Users looking to upgrade to a £100-£110 PCI-Express GPU would do well to seriously consider SAPPHIRE's X800 GT Hybrid 256MB card. AGP users will need to wait, though, and the very nature of the how the X800 GT came into being indicates that it won't be around forever, so snap it up while you still can.
