Serenity is a GREAT movie but is it better than Star Wars?

Well, I heard that it’s been said that Serenity is a better than Star Wars. I actually started contemplating that myself after watching this awesome movie. I didn’t know what to expect from Serenity because I didn’t watch FireFly or even really know anything about it. A co-worker told me a bit about it and got me intrigued so I went to the movie with my bro and bro-gf on Saturday. And am I ever glad I did! Hands down, Serenity is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a loooong time.

The story, comedy, action, battle scenes, fight scenes, acting, writing… all exceded my expectations. All were great. I’m always game for a good future, sci-fi story. I want to watch it again before I really start comparing it to Star Wars, though. I’ll let the hardcore sci-fi geeks battle that out for now.

And if you don’t know what “twix my nethers” means, please let me know, and I’ll help translate. :)

I’d like to know, is Kaylee Irish, Scottish, Southern, or something else? I can’t quite place it.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe she’s part southern Irish, part Scottish. ;)

One thing to keep in mind with Serenity/Firefly is that Whedon’s point was to do a Western+Space/Sci-Fi genre-bending movie/series. And I think he pulled it off very well. It gives it a nice unique flavor.

Props to Whedon for a fine flick!
