Nice try Agassi, congrats Nadal

It was fun watching Agassi take on Nadal in the Rogers Cup yesterday. I really enjoy watching Agassi and was surprised to see him get upset a couple times during the match. After Agassi dropped a set and then took the second with some strong games and points, I thought Nadal might be in trouble. But, Agassi lost his momentum and Nadal was whipping some crazy shots like usual. The 35-year-old Agassi showed the 19-year-old what a legend is made of, and I think he can take him if they meet a couple more times before Agassi retires.

I just hope Agassi is around a bit longer since he’s my favorite player to watch. I love how fundamentally sound his game is; his strokes are a thing of beauty - short and sweet. He doesn’t have any awkward movements or a weird service motion; his game is fluid and smooth like silk. He doesn’t pound the ball but can rip it if he wants. His placement and ability to outlast opponents on rallies is inspiring.

Best of luck to you, Agassi, on staying fit, healthy and strong!

By the way, there’s more tennis on ESPN2 this week. Federer plays today, and I’m sure he’ll put a hurtin’ on Blake. Prediction: 6-2, 6-2. :)

I watched the match, too. It was definitely entertaining. After the 2nd set, I thought Agassi was going to pull off the upset. Too bad he didn’t.
