In the early 90s, Digable Planets released some of the freshest hip hop songs ever, including the classic Rebirth of Slick. The funky, jazzy group disbanded in the mid-90s, but now they are apparently back together and working on an album and on a reunion tour! I’m a little behind the times apparently, as Butterfly, Doodlebug and Ladybug got back together last fall.

The best part about figuring this out is that DigPlan will actually be close to where I’m living next month! The wife and I will definitely be hitting that joint up when they come to blow up the spot.

Side notes:
Ladybug = LadybugMecca and she has recently released her first solo album
Doodlebug = Cee Knowledge and he formed Cosmic Funk Orchestra
Butterfly = Cherrywine, which is also his group’s name and he released an album with them
